AB  - The XUV and soft X-ray free-electron laser FLASH at DESY is capable of operating two undulator beamlines simultaneously with up to several thousand bunches per second. It is driven by a normal conducting RF photo-cathode gun and a superconducting L-band linac. FLASH is currently undergoing a substantial refurbishment and upgrade program (FLASH2020+). The first 9-months installation shutdown started in November 2021. Here we report on the operation in 2021 and present main upgrades during the ongoing shutdown.
